The University of Oregon (UO) was awarded $117.0M from external funding sources in grants, contracts and other competitive awards for the fiscal year 2015-16 (FY16), a 2% increase compared to FY15 ($114.6M). This comprised 536 awards received by 270 Principal Investigators (PIs). Direct federal awards in support of UO sponsored activities totaled $74.1M and the addition of federal flow-through awards brought the total federal award support to $98.6M, 84.3% of the total funding awarded in FY16. Federal flow-through dollars are those funds allocated to UO by other entities, such as other universities, non-profit organizations, and state and local governmental agencies. In FY16 funding from non-federal sources like industry, foundations and associations increased by 64.2% from FY15.
