Invitation for internal submissions for the NEH Summer Stipend 2019 Award
The National Endowment for the Humanities has announced its 2019 Summer Stipend Competition. The University of Oregon may nominate two tenured / tenure related faculty members.
The internal deadline for preliminary proposals is 5:00 PM on July 6, 2018.
Preliminary proposals for the 2019 Summer Stipend should be submitted online to Research Development Services by 5:00 PM on July 6, 2018. Proposals received after this deadline will be returned without review.
A faculty committee will review all submissions that meet the eligibility requirements, guidelines and the internal deadline. The committee will recommend two nominees to the Vice President for Research & Innovation.
Preliminary proposals must consist of materials required by the NEH Summer Stipend program, including (1) a project narrative; (2) a bibliography and (3) a resume. Please read the guidelines and the eligibility requirements carefully before applying.
The Office of the Vice President for Research & Innovation will provide a comparable summer stipend for UO nominees who do not receive the NEH award and are employed by the UO in a permanent tenured or tenure related position for the academic year 2018-2019.
The external deadline for submission to NEH is September 26, 2018, for projects beginning May 2019.
