The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation is now searching for an Associate Vice President for Research. The deadline for full consideration is March 15, 2018. The Associate Vice President for Research (AVP) works directly with the vice president for research and innovation and other members of the executive team. AVPs provide advice and counsel to the vice president on matters related to research activities and research administration, as well as lead special projects and oversee research service units such as core facilities. The AVP positions are salaried, part time, limited duration appointments designed to allow incumbents to be able to continue their research or teaching. The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
AVP positions in OVPRI provide valuable experience for those potentially interested in academic administration. Many previous AVPs have moved on to other leadership roles in academia.
This year the office is especially looking for candidates from the natural sciences though all disciplines will be considered.
