Cresko named associate vice president for research

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Dr. William Cresko has accepted the position of Associate Vice President for Research in the Office for Research and Innovation.  

Dr. Cresko is an Associate Professor of Biology and the Director of the Institute for Ecology and Evolution (IE2) who has been a member of the University of Oregon for over 14 years. 

In this new role he will partner with others on the Vice President’s executive team in providing management and oversight of sponsored research administration, Research Centers and Institutes, and Research Core Facilities.  Dr. Cresko’s research interests include the developmental genetic and cellular basis of phenotypic evolution.  To perform his research he uses genetic mapping, developmental studies, and functional transgenic approaches.

We are excited to have Bill join our Research and Innovation team.  Please join me in welcoming Bill as a new Associate Vice President for Research.
