After 11 years in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, Moira Kiltie has accepted a position as the acting chief of staff with the new Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact. She steps into her new role on a full-time basis starting January 1, 2017.
In the interim, Kiltie will be transitioning out of her role as chief of staff for research and innovation. A detailed transition plan will be announced in late November, outlining any changes to the structure of the office and detailing the available resources for the research community. Until then, faculty and staff seeking information on research appointment activity, PI status and other important topics can continue to contact Kiltie.
“Moira has been an invaluable asset to our office,” said David Conover, vice president for research and innovation. “She understands the ins and outs of our research enterprise and her knowledge will be put to good use in supporting the launch of the $1 billion Knight Campus initiative. While this office will continue to work closely with Moira in her new role with the Knight Campus, we will surely miss her full time presence within the VPRI’s office.”
Update: On November 21, 2016 David Conover outlined in a memo an interim plan to redistribute responsibilities.
