| Mission: |
|
 |
| The
Office of Research Services and Administration (ORSA) provides assistance
to the faculty who seek, obtain, and manage grants and contracts in
support of their research, instructional programs and public service
projects. |
|
 |
| As
the office with institutional authority to submit applications and
accept awards on behalf of the University, ORSA provides services
in three main areas: |

1. |
Proposal
Preparation and Clearance: application materials and guidelines;
budget development and approvals; final proposal review and clearance;
authorized signature and official submission of proposals in electronic
or hard copy. |

2. |
Grant
and Contract Administration: review, negotiation, and acceptance
of award terms; account number and budget set up; contract and sub-agreement
preparation and authorized signature; interpretation and application
of agency regulations; administrative changes and approvals; financial
reporting and billings; final award closeout; audit responses. |

| 3. |
Institutional
Systems Development: identify, advocate, and participate
in making changes to UO management and financial systems, to streamline
administrative burdens and respond to the changing environment in
electronic processing; provide pertinent and current information
related to grants administration through workshops, meetings, web
site and listserv for faculty and staff. |
