ORAU is a nonprofit organization that coordinates academia, government, and industry to advance learning, health, and science, and memberships including access to unique vehicles for funding research, professional growth and development opportunities, and interesting collaborations.

Member Grant Programs
The Member Grant Programs provides opportunities for member institutions to connect with each other, as well as with ORAU program staff, government agencies, and institutions.
ORAU offers several grant programs to its university consortium members to facilitate these connections and thereby create opportunities for cutting edge and innovative research.
- Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award: The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award is available to full time assistant professors within two years of their tenure track appointment at the time of application.
- Innovation Partnerships Grant Program: The Innovation Partnerships Grant Program is currently undergoing restructuring, but in the past has sought to build stronger relationships between university members and ORAU collaborators,

Research Areas and Research and Innovation Clusters (RICs)
ORAU’s Research and University Partnerships Office (RUPO) brings together university faculty and students to collaborate with ORAU experts on major scientific initiatives that strengthen America’s leading edge in science and technology. ORAU offers many ways to create partnerships within academia, industry, and government to explore and develop innovative solutions for some of our nation’s most pressing issues in broad Research Focus Areas in Atmospheric Science, Epidemiology and Exposure, Health Communication Marketing, and Decommissioning Health Physics. Occasionally, ORAU will have opportunities to engage in Research Innovation Clusters centered around specific areas of concern.
