Research Finance and Business Administration (RFBA) provides financial services and business support to the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) and to the research administration teams in Research and Innovation Services (i.e. SPS, IPS, RDS, RCS, RTS, UROP). The shared services RIS Administration team serves needs of teams including account reconciliation, human resources, payroll, purchasing, and other business support requests. RFBA also provides financial oversight for the OVPRI for the research centers and institutes, research core facilities, central start-up, and to research special programs (i.e. Covid MAP and OHAZ). RFBA reports to the Associate Vice President for Research Operations.
Central Start-up Request Form if you need to request start-up transfer for annual funding, a budget reallocation or an extension. Please start with one of the excel forms below as it will need to be attached to the smartsheet central start-up request form.
- Funding Request (annually each fiscal year until expired)
- Extension Request (funds may expire soon and you want to request more time)
- Budget Reallocation Request (note you may not request changes to GE or core facility funding categories)

Research and Innovation Services (RIS) Administrative Team was established in 2012. Our mission is to provide shared services support for administrative and business needs primarily to research administration teams (i.e. SPS, IPS, RDS, RCS). RIS Admin Team reports to Sr. Director, RFBA.
