Honors and Awards

Our Research Development Services (RDS) unit offers assistance with nominating University of Oregon faculty for a wide variety of honors and awards, including assistance crafting letters of nomination, interpreting award and nomination guidelines, and insuring that nomination packages address award criteria as fully as possible.

Internal Honors and Awards

Outstanding Research Award

The Vice President for Research and Innovation, the Office of the Provost, and the Graduate School annually host and sponsor the Outstanding Research Awards. Awardees receive commendation from the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. The awards include $1,000 (or $2,500 for a team) in research support, a recognition memento, and a highlight of their work in internal and external communications.

UO Sustainability Award

This award program aims to recognize individuals whose contributions deepen our culture of sustainability across a range of institutional activities.  The OVPRI sponsors 2 of the Sustainability Awards: one for research and scholarship, and one for innovation and impact. Award recipients will receive $500 in research funds ($1000 will be provided to a team), and will also be featured in a video produced by the Office of Sustainability.

External Honors and Awards

Many associations, foundations and societies provide honors, awards, and prizes in a wide variety of disciplines. RDS has created list of these opportunities tailored for the departments within schools and colleges at UO. RDS also created curated searches below using the Pivot funding opportunities database.
