It’s time to mark your calendars for a campus-wide celebration meant to re‑energize the UO research and innovation community by strengthening partnerships, fostering new collaborations, and reminding us of the exciting and meaningful work happening across the university every day.

Throughout the week of April 6–10, 2026, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, along with campus partners, will host a series of events open to faculty, students, postdoctoral scholars, and staff. On Monday, April 6, President Karl Scholz and Interim Vice President for Research and Innovation Geri Richmond will launch the week’s programming with an event celebrating the impact of UO’s research and innovation enterprise

Other events include a research “takeover” of Willamette Atrium to showcase undergraduate opportunities, a science communication showcase and visual exhibit, a lecture by the 24th poet laureate of the United States, an innovation seminar, tours of research facilities, graduate student networking, and more.

With activities happening every day during the Week of Research and Innovation, there will be many opportunities to engage.

“It’s important to recognize the innovative efforts occurring in all corners of our campuses,” said Geri Richmond, interim vice president for research and innovation. “We hope to reinvigorate our community to keep striving in the face of current challenges. By coming together to celebrate our achievements, we build momentum for impactful future discovery.”

Some events require an RSVP, so be sure to visit our website with our schedule of programs and register in advance for those events that require RSVPs.
