About
The Neurons to Minds cluster will tackle the question of how the astonishing feats of the human mind emerge — and how aging or disease subverts these processes. This fundamental question can be answered by bringing together neuroscientists studying neurons in simple organisms with those studying human brain networks. There is a clear need to integrate across levels, yet worldwide there are few research groups with “low-level” and “high-level” neuroscientists working collaboratively. The Oregon Neurons to Minds cluster builds on strong existing collaborations between systems biologists (Department of Biology) and cognitive neuroscientists (Department of Psychology) and will enable fundamental and translational neuroscience research, including collaborations with the Department of Physics and the College of Education.
