The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation invites applications to the Career Research Faculty Professional Development program, which helps career research faculty access professional development opportunities aligned with the individual’s research position and promotion trajectory.
Career research faculty of all ranks who are at over 0.75 FTE are eligible to apply, including research assistants, research associates, and research professors. Pro-tem research faculty may also apply for this program after serving one year in their positions if they have an ongoing contract. Well-justified exceptions to these eligibility requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Note that research assistants are highly encouraged to apply for program support.
Applicants may request funds up to $4,000 to support activities such as attending conferences, workshops, seminars, and trainings; acquiring software, books, and training manuals; membership fees for organizations; etc. Faculty may also request salary replacement to allow them to commit time to other activities contributing to their program of research.
Applications for this program are accepted on a rolling basis.
