UO's conflict of interest and commitment disclosure process is transitioning to the Conflict of Interest module of the Research Administration Portal (RAP COI) in April 2023. Please read below for details. Email coi@uoregon.edu with any questions.
what's new
All UO employees will now be declaring outside activities and interests in the new conflict of interest system, RAP COI. This includes:
- Disclosing required activities and interests as defined in one or both UO policies:
- Viewing real-time status of declaration and review processes
- Integration with Sponsored Project Services systems (sponsored researchers only)
- Integration with CITI for FCOI training (sponsored researchers only)
All Employees
- All new disclosures of outside activities and interests related to your UO duties that are required under the COI-COC policy will be made in RAP COI
- For employees with existing COI-COC management plans, you do not need to do anything at this time unless you have new activities and/or interests to declare; if you need to update your existing declaration, you will redeclare all activities/interests in RAP COI
Sponsored Researchers Only
- All sponsored researchers are subject to declaring outside activities and interests under both COI/COC and FCOIR policies
- Existing disclosers, you will be sent a notification when it is time redeclare your Significant Financial Interests (SFIs) and other outside activities and interests; if you need to update your existing declaration, you will redeclare all activities/interests in RAP COI
- If you have never disclosed before, all new disclosures will be made in RAP COI
- Required Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) training will now be completed in CITI
- Complete the COI Researcher training for the University of Oregon in CITI
- In the CITI system, set your “institutional email” to your UO email address (@uoregon.edu) and make sure your first and last names in CITI match UO Banner, to ensure your training record migrates to RAP COI
- Please note, migration of CITI training dates into RAP COI takes two days. You will not be able to complete your disclosure in RAP COI if your training is showing as expired in RAP COI.
- Once the COI Researcher training is completed satisfactorily in CITI, it is good for 3 years.
We appreciate your time, flexibility, and your patience with working in a new system. We also appreciate any feedback that you could share with us about the process that may help improve the user experience. Contact coi@uoregon.edu.
