Principal Investigator (PI) Certification

This mandatory annual certification provides an overview of important concepts and procedures regarding compliance and accountability that are vital to the Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) role, as a primary steward, of an externally funded project or program at the University of Oregon. This annual certification must be current in order to be added to an Electronic Proposal Clearance System (EPCS) record, or for a new account to be set-up in Banner for awarded funds.

How to Complete your Annual PI Certification:

  1. Please login to the Electronic Proposal Clearance System (EPCS) with your Duck ID.

  2. From the Main Menu, locate the PI Certification link from the right column with the heading Messages.

  3. Click the PI Certification link and move through the module, checking the boxes at the bottom of the screen, until you reach the confirmation page. You will also receive an automated email confirming completion.
