The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation is currently soliciting proposals for the UO Foundation Trustee Excellence Grant, a collaboration of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation and trustees of the University of Oregon Foundation.

Faculty members from all academic disciplines are invited to apply for 2025 UO Foundation Trustee Excellence Grant program. Awards will be made to two faculty members who demonstrate plans to advance high-impact scholarship and research in instances where faculty resources and/or external funding opportunities are limited. Note that this program does not expect to fund faculty members with significant active external or internal research funding.

The program supports research, scholarship, and/or creative activity by providing eligible faculty members with up to $50,000 for research expenses, including travel, equipment, supplies, contractual services, shared facility use, and graduate or undergraduate student research assistance. Summer stipends and course releases are allowed per departmental policies and guidelines, with departmental approval required at time of submission. Competitive proposals will embed opportunities for undergraduate students to meaningfully engage in the project.

Two grants are expected to be funded, with money to be distributed starting in July of 2025 for a project start date of September 1.

The deadline for receipt of proposals is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7.

Guidelines and the application form are available online via the Research Development Services website. Questions should be directed to Research Development Services, rds@uoregon.edu.
