Beginning December 22, 2025, drones manufactured by companies in a foreign country of concern may not be purchased with or used in federally sponsored research under the American Security Drone Act. The restricted is based on national security concerns related to data access and infrastructure risks. The prohibition includes drones made by DJI and Autel.

Drone Use on Campus
Anyone operating a drone or model aircraft on UO property or at a UO‑sponsored event must receive approval from Safety and Risk Services.
A UAS Request Form must be submitted at least 14 days before the planned flight.
