Research Compliance Services (RCS) conducted a survey of University of Oregon IRB users in 2023 and 2025.
Excerpts of significant changes
- Knowledge level of staff increased from 64% to 90%
- Helpfulness of staff increased from 63% to 89%
- Speed of service increased from 27% to 90%
- Overall satisfaction with the IRB/ Research Compliance Services increased from 40% to 86%
These results are likely driven by increased training of staff, shortened turnaround times (from 43 days to 16 days average turnaround time for all submissions, all review levels), and more communication and outreach with researchers (a new dashboard making all metrics available to the UO community, increased announcements in The Frontline newsletter).
