Required Certifications

The following certifications are required to be completed annually by UO employees who interact with active sponsored projects.  Please contact spsRISE@uoregon.edu for further guidance.

DGA Certification

This mandatory annual certification provides an overview of important concepts and procedures regarding compliance and accountability that are integral to the designated Department Grant Administrator (DGA) role for externally funded projects or programs at the University of Oregon.

    PI Certification

This mandatory annual certification provides an overview of important concepts and procedures regarding compliance and accountability that are vital to the Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) role, as a primary steward, of an externally funded project or program at the University of Oregon. This annual certification must be current in order to be added to an Electronic Proposal Clearance System (EPCS) record, or for a new account to be set-up in Banner for awarded funds.

    FCOI Training and declaration

This mandatory training is required of sponsored researchers by federal Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) regulations, and the UO's associated Financial Conflict of Interest in Research (FCOI) policy. This training must be completed at least annually, and must be current - along with a current Significant Financial Interest (SFI) declaration - in order for an investigator to submit a proposal, or receive funding for sponsored research.
