The Sponsored Research Advisory Council (SRAC) was initiated in May 2021. While this group emerged from shared interests of active research faculty across campus and began as a self-organized committee, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation now oversees and convenes this council (officially charged in Winter 2022).
The Sponsored Research Advisory Council shall serve as an advisor to the Vice President for Research and Innovation (VPRI), the Provost, and the President on matters related to sponsored research and decisions that impact the research mission at the UO. This committee provides feedback on the unique needs of managing sponsored research portfolios and offers expert advice on how to advance our research enterprise.
The SRAC will promote the interests of the sponsored research community. The Research Advisory Board will continue to provide advice to the VPRI broadly in support of research, scholarship, and creative activity across the institution.
SRAC appointments are for two-years—the initial cohort will be appointed for a mixture of one-year and two-year terms to create a membership with staggered terms. The board meets at least quarterly throughout the academic year. UO faculty members engaged in research may indicate their interest in participating on the council by emailing the VPRI at vpri@uoregon.edu.
