Training and Resources for the COI-COC Policy

This PowerPoint briefly covers the background and history of the UO's Conflict of Interest, Conflict of Commitment, and Outside Activities Policy and describes the basic elements of the policy. Please note the method of disclosure for outside activities and interests for both the Conflict of Interest, Conflict of Commitment, and Outside Activities policy and UO's Financial Conflict of Interest in Research policy has changed since the creation of this PowerPoint. All disclosures required under both policies are now completed in the Research Administration Portal Conflict of Interest system (RAP COI). An audio recorded training accompanying the PowerPoint is accessible to UO employees through MyTrack.

Additionally, the University's Ethics Office has guidance on a range of topics related to common questions about working at a public institution. The guidance includes brief videos on use of official position, accepting gifts and discounts, conflict of interest, and conflict of commitment. Guidance on when and how to disclose a financial interest in publications and presentations can be found on the Ethics Office website under "Disclosure of Financial Interests in Presentations/Publications (for Researchers)".
