Payroll Certifications for Sponsored Projects at the University of Oregon

In order to meet federal requirements, the University of Oregon requires quarterly payroll certifications for sponsored projects. The reports are compiled following the close of the fiscal quarter and are available electronically to the projects' Principal Investigator (PI) in our online system. The PI is responsible for reviewing the payroll information for the employees paid on their project and confirming the accuracy of the payroll postings as it relates to the work performed on the project. The system provides a process for alerting Sponsored Projects Services (SPS) and unit administrators to errors in the payroll postings to assist with corrections.

The payroll certifications are compiled with payroll data directly from the accounting system for salaried employees, and are routed and approved through https://ecc.rap.uoregon.edu/. The reports provide payroll amount information by employee by project, and additionally show the overall percentage of pay by funding source. SPS Post Award Teams monitor the completion of the payroll certification approvals, and provide assistance to PIs and unit administrators.
